Come learn about the wide world of Japanese “girlie” fashions that have contributed so much to the look of magical girls through the years, and the more recent rise of high fashion collaborations with various magical girl IPs!

Come learn the very basics of crochet. You will learn to chain and single crochet. This will get you started into the wonderful world of yarn crafting. An easy and fun workshop. Not a cosplayer? That’s Ok! Please bring (1) Skein Of a Solid light color Worsted weight #4 Yarn and a Size “H” crochet hook.

Miraculous Chibi Writing Workshop!
Join Mad Cave Studios author Carrie Harris for a Miraculous Ladybug Chibi-themed writing workshop, complete with special Miraculous Chibi writing booklets! Create your own Miraculous superhero and send them off on their own adventures! Great for all ages.
Harris has been writing comics, novels, and games for over 20 years. She writes both original and licensed books in a variety of worlds including Marvel, Warhammer 40k, and the Fate RPG.
Stop by the Mad Cave Studios booth afterwards for a special Miraculous Chibi graphic novel signing with the crew!

The Heart of Shōjo: How Magical Girls Shaped My Manga Career
Brooklyn-based manga artist Emmanuel Knight presents a visual storytelling tribute to the magical girl genre and the shōjo manga that shaped his creative career.
In this panel, Emmanuel explores the impact and inspiration of iconic series like Sailor Moon, Pretear, Cardcaptor Sakura, Shugo Chara, Tokyo Mew Mew, and Gakuen Alice—as well as the influence of illustrators like Mutsumi Inomata, Mayumi Azuma, Hiromu Arakawa, and Katsura Hoshino. Through visual slides, artwork comparisons, and personal storytelling, you'll explore: how magical girl and shōjo themes shaped the heart, tone, and emotional core of Magna AX, the influence of women creators and their designs on a young artist’s worldview, and a personal evolution from fandom to a professional career, celebrating shōjo’s expansive power. The panel includes an audience Q&A and a special giveaway of limited edition Magna AX merchandise, including tote bags, manga copies, and exclusive prints! This is a heartfelt love letter to the media that inspired transformation—not just on screen, but in life and art.

"Gyaru Candyland" is an interactive panel for j-fashion lovers with a special appreciation for gyaru fashion and culture! This panel will go over topics such as the history of gyaru fashion, how the subculture evolved, and more! We will then have an FAQ/section, followed by a group parapara lesson. Anyone who participates will get to learn two easy, popular dances within the gyaru community!
